Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Together we can.
The mission of the Mothers’ Union is to show our Christian faith by the transformation of communities worldwide, through the promotion of stable marriage, family life and the protection of humanity
We aim to achieve this through five objectives:
- To encourage parents to bring up their children in the Christian faith and life of church. Mark 10: 13-16, Psalm 127:3, Proverbs 22: 6
- To maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service. Hebrews 10: 25, Philippians 1: 3 – 6, 1Thes 5: 11,
- To promote conditions in society that are favorable to stable communities and the protection of children. Isaiah 49: 15-16
- To help those members of society and community whose lives are met with adversity. Hebrews 13.16,
- To uphold Christ’s teaching on the nature of marriage and family life.
It is our work as the Mothers’ Union (MU) to be specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage, Christian family life, our faith and fellowship in prayer, worship and service to God and others. John 15:12, Galatians 6: 2 – 5
The St Paul Ladies Fellowship Group is a diverse group which includes members of the Mothers’ Union which was launched on 7 June 2019 by The Archbishop of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East His Grace Michael Lewis. Before the pandemic, the Ladies’ Fellowship group was quite vibrant and dynamic. We used to meet physically at least twice every month in homes for fellowship, Bible Study and had lessons on a variety of chosen topics, for instance health, cooking, baking sharing a meal after every session and some fundraising activities towards social welfare. Despite the pandemic, the group has remained connected. We continue to fellowship and do Bible Study virtually. It has been a privilege to study and see the connection in the Old Testament and New Testament books and apply them to our context. For instance, we have been focusing our attention on the women of the Bible, the woman of virtue in Proverbs, the risks and rewards of obedience to God and his word, the power of prayer, generous giving, God’s mercy, blessing and wrath, misplaced trust, understanding the nature of God in captivity, his control in the present and the future, his restoration of all things through his Son Jesus Christ. Books Studied so far: Daniel, 1st and 2nd Kings, 1st and 2nd Samuel, Chronicles and Matthew. Recently we were trying to understand the Lord’s Prayer in our context and in the time of the pandemic and exploring the benefits of Christian fellowship.
